This global pandemic has had a drastic impact in the lives of the people we work alongside around the world. Like the majority of the world, the country of Kenya has completely shut down and closed all schools.

We know this may seem like the norm these days, but for people living in extreme poverty, the effects of a country-wide shut down are dire. In a community where you “eat as you earn”, not working or attending school means no food. No way to provide meals for your family and no savings or safety net to fall back on. That’s why we are so grateful to our wonderful supporters who have continued to give faithfully, many above and beyond their means, so we can keep feeding the students of New Hope Academy in Kibera.

We’ve been able to provide meals consisting of rice, beans, corn, and oil so that these families can continue to eat during these uncertain times. Thank you to everyone who has continued to give and make moments like these possible! We would like to continue feeding our families through the remainder of this shutdown, but seeing as we do not know the end date, it is hard to prepare or budget for this special project.

If you would like to donate to help provide meals for families in Kibera, please use the button below and select “COVID 19 Response” from the designation menu. Thank you again!
