Meet Kadie Thomas. Kadie's husband passed away four years ago, leaving her family in severely challenging circumstances. Feeding and clothing the kids was difficult but medical care and schooling became unrealistic. She began attending church where she gave her life to Christ. Later she was introduced to Pastor Rogers who spent time with Kadie, helping the family when possible.
They prayed together and asked God to provide relief. Three months later her young boys Frank, Victor, and Patrick all moved into New Hope's Karen Baird Children’s Home.
The boys were welcomed immediately by the other children who took them in and helped them through the transition. Within the first few months of the boys leaving, Kadie fell ill needing stomach surgery. Thankfully her surgery was successful and she is currently in recovery.
She expressed to New Hope Sierra Leone project leader, Phil D’Entremont, that her children would most likely have been given away to strangers during this period as she would not have been able to provide any care to them. However, since coming to Christ, God has worked through their lives and delivered the boys from a hopeless future. Although she continues to have struggles, she is thankful that her boys are on a path to a brighter future and surrounded by Christ-loving people. She is thankful for all Pastor Rogers and NHI have done for her family.
New Hope’s mission is to create paths out of spiritual and physical poverty for some of the world's most underprivileged children and families. Would you consider partnering with New Hope to support the needs of Sierra Leone Children's Home financially and prayerfully?
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
